Adam Raki is a character in the American romantic drama-comedy Adam.

Character creation

Actor Hugh Dancy initially did not know a lot about autism and had to do research for the role, including reading books by autistic people.[1]

The movie premiered at the 2009 Sundance film festival, where it won the Alfred P. Sloan prize.[2]

Biography

Adam lives alone in a Manhattan apartment after his dad died. The story focuses on the relationship between Adam and Beth, a school teacher who has just moved into his apartment building.

Autism

Adam himself states that he has Asperger's syndrome. He is very literal-minded and has a special interest in space.
