This is a list of characters that are currently rejected from the wiki. This may be for a variety of reasons:

  • They are stated to be open for interpretation
  • They are explicitly stated to not be autistic
  • No sources supporting autism could be found
  • Sources referencing autism are ambiguous (e.g. "perhaps on the autism spectrum", "a little bit autistic")

Kamille Bidan Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam In episode 9 of Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, Kamille uses the term "jiheishō" to describe himself, roughly saying "I'm just an autistic child".[22] It is near-certain that this is a misuse of the term to mean depression/withdrawal/neuroticism/anti-social/shyness. At the time the series was made, this was not an uncommon misconception, and the director has a track record of misusing autism to mean those other things.[23] The English dub uses the word "neurotic" in this instance.[24] I know dubs aren't perfect but it's likely that the translators knew of this whole "saying autism when they mean something else" thing and kept this in mind for localization.

Jamie Benjamin The Pit A classic rendition of the "disturbed child" trope in horror. Screenwriter Ian Stuart mentions that the character is inspired by real-life children with autism and mental illness, but director Lew Lehman made significant changes to the script that impact the characterization of the mental state of the character (like making the Trogs real creatures and not just figments of his imagination/manifestations of his psychosis).[33] Though press often banked the character as autistic, there are no sources to support this claim.
