Katie Latham is a supporting character in the young adult thriller novel By Any Other Name by Laura Jarratt.
Character creation
Author Laura Jarrat has worked in education, including special education, for a number of years. The character of Katie was loosely based on an autistic girl she met while doing a summer job in university.[1]
Synopsis
15-year-old Holly and her family go into witness protection after she witnessed a kidnapping. This includes her 8-year-old autistic sister Katie.
Autism
Katie is stated to be autistic in the novel.
