Renee is a main character in the Pixar short film Loop.
Character creation
Renee is voiced by Madison Bandy, who is autistic and nonverbal. Voice recording for Madison's part took place at her home instead of in a studio, to create a more comfortable environment for her and better capture her natural voice.[1][2] People from the Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN) were involved in making the film.
The story was inspired by experiences director Erica Milsom had while volunteering at an art program for adults with disabilities and interacting with people who don't communicate with spoken language.[3]
Appearance
She is a 13-year-old girl. She is also described as autistic on the SparkShorts page.[4]
Autism
Renee is nonverbal.
